    SUMMARY OF POSITIONS: Whitworth University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program invites applications and nominations for multiple 12-month tenure-track and non-tenure-track faculty positions to join its founding DPT faculty. Our program is avidly preparing to submit an Application for Candidacy to CAPTE in Fall 2021. The DPT program/faculty is in the process of creating an innovative learner-centered curriculum design, rich in evidence-based practice, interprofessional learning experiences and community clinical partnerships. The program will prepare DPT graduates with the leadership, professional and clinical competencies, and moral courage to collaboratively lead health teams and be effective movement system experts in the promotion of health of individuals, communities, and our diverse society. The selected candidates will join a group of core faculty members over the next few years whose collective expertise will comprise needed DPT curriculum content areas. Faculty will engage in scholarly opportunities that contribute to the advancement of the profession and create innovative learner-centered delivery models that provide education excellence and meet national accreditation standards for Doctor of Physical Therapy education. The University is interested in expanding its graduate health program portfolio; to that end, it is investing in a state of the art new building to house teaching and research that includes a motion analysis research lab, exercise physiology labs, anatomy lab, simulation labs, dedicated classroom and functional lab spaces to support the unique needs of each of its health programs. The new facilities will reflect the institutional commitments to quality, faculty, student and staff support, accessibility, and environmental sustainability.

    REQUIRED JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    ·         Possess a PT degree and an academic doctoral degree (PhD, DSc, DHS, EdD), and/or a DPT degree and an APTA board certified clinical specialization with a minimum of 4 yrs. of clinical experience, 3 yrs. of clinical teaching experience preferred (CI, SCCE) and willingness to pursue an academic doctoral degree within 2 yrs. of hire where needed. Other professional/academic degrees necessary for program success and accreditation may be considered.

    ·         Be eligible for Washington state PT licensure. Other professional/academic degrees that are eligible for program.

    ·         Demonstrate expertise in any of the following highly valued areas: graduate foundational sciences in anatomy, pathophysiology and disease management, neuroscience, movement science, exercise physiology, biomechanics, research, leadership and business management and/or demonstrate clinical management expertise in any of the specialties of practice: cardiovascular and pulmonary, orthopedics, sports, neurology, pediatrics, geriatrics, oncology women’s health, clinical electrophysiology and wound management. Be engaged in a scholarship agenda appropriate to rank and Whitworth’s expectations for faculty to pursue a variety of modes of scholarship ranging among discovery, synthesis, application, and teaching.

    ·         Lead and contribute to a collaborative, dynamic, mission driven faculty team interested in advancing physical therapist education, research and practice within the Whitworth Mission and Vision.

    ·         Teach, advise, pursue scholarship, serve university and community, and offer clinical mentoring/practice within our planned interprofessional offerings/programs.

    ·         A personal commitment to the Christian faith and to the integration of faith and learning.

    ·         PT/DPT degrees preferred, however, academic doctoral degree candidates will be considered for select faculty lines.

    Seeking a Lead Physical Therapist to join our busy multidisciplinary team. The perfect candidate will be self-motivated, optimistic, patient centered, and skilled in an outpatient setting. Applicants must be proficient in sports rehabilitation, IASTM, McKenzie Method and geriatric population. Competitive compensation, 401K, paid time off and bonus structure offered. Clinic is patient centered with a strong sense of community. The clinic is small and an ideal candidate would welcome working with other disciplines in medicine such as: acupuncture, chiropractic, massage therapy, craniosacral and reiki.
